One concern that most parents have is whether their folded baby/pet stroller will fit in the car (in the car trunk or in the car itself). This is one of the more frequently asked questions, especially by parents who own a mini-car where the trunk is slightly smaller.
Most modern strollers are compact and easy to fold, so getting them inside the car is not a problem, as the following pictures will reveal (fitting your stroller in a car isn’t an issue).
There are several reasons why you may have to take your toddler along with you in your car (and also take the stroller along). In fact, most moms love to travel with a stroller. Strollers are great; they have a canopy to protect the kids from the hot weather, most have cup holders, storage space to keep shopping bags, diaper bags, etc.
How to secure your stroller in the car
After folding the stroller, place your stroller in your car/van/SUV by wrapping a bungee cord around your backseat headrest. This gives you additional space, which you may use to fit in other things in your trunk. You may also use stroller wheel covers for the wheels of the stroller, so if the wheels get dirty it won’t make your car dirty. You may also use shower caps to cover the wheels.
Most moms also feel that strollers (baby strollers as well as pet strollers) are complicated to fold, and that the strollers were simpler and intuitive to open and close. However, folding a modern stroller is not that difficult; most strollers have a red button that you have to either push or pull to fold/unfold a stroller. Just push the button, grab the handle and the stroller will nicely fold for you.
Police in Avon and Somerset have spoken to the driver of a Toyota photographed travelling through central Bath with a pushchair (still containing a child) packed in the boot of her car.
A driver was stopped by police after a child, still strapped into a pushchair, was spotted travelling in the boot of her hatchback.
Avon and Somerset Police said they traced the driver of the red Toyota Yaris Verso after the car was seen travelling along Dorchester Street in Bath.
The pushchair in which the child was sitting had been strapped into the boot of the car using disability straps.
In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We have spoken to the driver of this vehicle and given her words of advice.
“Although the pram was strapped into disability straps, this is an inappropriate use of this equipment.
“Clearly, we would advise all motorists to drive in accordance with the law, especially when young children are in the vehicle.”
